Latteo is a passion project for a coffee shop based in Liverpool, UK. They are known for their modern and cozy cafe that helps people relax and have a coffee break after a long work day. What’s better than a cup of coffee to recharge is their motto

We wanted to create an amazing brand identity for a coffee shop to celebrate our love and addiction to coffee. If there is an addition that we aren’t looking to give up at all, it will be coffee. So, we wanted to imagine a new coffee shop and experiment with a simple and minimal project
The first stage is research. After we collect the insights and understand the brand, we start all our projects with broad research.
In this research, we were looking for what other coffee shops are doing, and also how relaxing brands present themselves, what designs they are using, and what are the common characteristics that could position Latteo as a relaxing and cozy brand
After we collected the visuals, we started building a stylescape, which is a way to help us define the design direction and the future result before we even design anything
The first step in the actual design was the logo, we wanted to create a simple logotype that looks cozy and organic. We explored different styles and ways to write the brand name until we landed on the final solution
To make the brand feel open and relaxed, we avoided vibrant colors that could add stress and too much focus to the brand. We chose a desaturated color palette with colors that work well together and don’t have too much contrast
To make the experience more personal, we came up with the idea of hand-writing customers’ names on the cups. It will make customers feel more important and it will improve the experience the customers will have in the coffee shop even if they didn’t have their coffee at the place.
